OK this is my thing ive been playing call of duty 4 for the ps3 for a long time i dont care if you got XBOX or PS3 i just need to know which is better to help you kill more people for all the types of level and maps your playing is silencer with uav better then red-dot becuase i hear silencer makes the gun less powerfull and others say it just takes range from the gun and i was just wondering which of the two does it finally does cause sometimes im playin online with silencer and it does seems to have less power with it cause i fire more then when i have red dot but idk maybe is just me or does it take more power away from the gun i mean it seems like people dont really wanna be invisible cause alot of people dont you is but mayb is because it does take power away from it and it makes it hard 2 see, and others say they dont use it cause of the killcam they will see you anyway dont get it cause is not to hide is for going after them and not noticing who they are being shot by, and then other use silencer and stoping power why would they do that if when the other group calls 4 uav they will see u even if u have a silencer why not get the uav to be visible ?.
yes i know that but what im sayin like is it better to use silencer or the red dot n why do some people just use silencer n no uav with it liek whats the point cause if they call for uav they are going to be seen the red dot is u can fire from anywhere and get people kill but they will see u on radar n u will be found even if u just have red dot n uav, man these perks are confusing n another thing thats wierd to me is that when you put stoppin power as a perk it seems to take longer to kill some1 then when u dont have it whats up with that sometimes

You are obviously a noob at cod4, so i’ll tell you this: the silencer decreases only your range, but when you shoot with one you don’t show up as a red dot on the enemy’s radar. Also if you have uav jammer then they cannot see you with uav either. So uav jammer+silencer would be all out stealth mode

Okay. Whether you use a silencer or a red dot sight depends on how you like to play the game, the game type and the gun.
For example, if you like being sneaky and killing their entire team from behind then it is best to use a silencer. Although, a silencer reduces the range of the gun but not damage. However, if you like running in head on into the enemy and shooting them from further away, a red dot sight is better. I also agree that a silencer is almost pointless without UAV jammer in most game types.
The game type also makes a difference. For example, in objective based games like Sabotage and Search and Destroy, a silencer and UAV jammer are best because you don’t want to be found while sneaking around. However, in Hardcore modes, there is no minimap most of the time and so it is often safe to use a red dot sight or ACOG scope.
The other thing that affects what attachment you should use is the gun itself. Some guns have extremely easy to use iron sights that are extremely accurate, like the MP5. It is often good to use a silencer on these because you can still aim well. However, some like on the Carbine and M14 have iron sights that are difficult to use and so a red dot sight is often the best way to go.
This is just advice, you make the decision.

there is only one gun that takes damage off when using BOTH a red dot and silencer which is the AK-47. all other guns in the game have reduced range with just the silencer but no damage reduction. If you are an aggressive player, use the silencer on a gun that works well with it (MP5 or M4) and dont use UAV jammer cause there is a kill cam. I fyou are more of a defense player, use the UAV jamer on with more powerfull guns (mp44, m14, m16 etc (even on shotguns)) and you dont have to put a silencer on it because you only show up as a dot on the radar for 1 second. The point of a silencer and no UAV jammer is it is for people who move alot so the other team cant guess the players movement. If they call in the UAV, he can still fly around the map, but he just has to be careful.

Fact, Neither of the 2 is better than one another, its a matter of preference. Would you prefer to be more stealthy? Not seen on the radar or heard nearby? the soundless shots? if so then id take the silencer. baring in mind the iron sights. i like them many dont. Or would you prefer the enhanced zoom red dot sight? better for long ranged, appear on radar though and isnt quiet at all. Most assault rifles id choose Red dot. Most smgs id choose silencer.
If you play hardcore the miniscule amount of damage it may reduce isnt relevant. There isnt a noticable difference with the silencer on. If your shooting someone, you are either going to kill them or your not. many poeple blame their silencer, but hey? did we ask them to put it on?.
